Slackware 13.0 x86 is released as stable! Thanks to everyone who helped make this release possible -- see the RELEASE_NOTES for the credits. The ISOs are off to the replicator. This time it will be a 6 CD-ROM 32-bit set and a dual-sided 32-bit/64-bit x86/x86_64 DVD. We're taking pre-orders now at store.slackware.com. Please consider picking up a copy to help support the project. Once again, thanks to the entire Slackware community for all the help testing and fixing things and offering suggestions during this development cycle. As always, have fun and enjoy! -P.

Changed design etc.

I finally broke down and started using web editor. I update the page to XHTML (should validate below), and updated some IE8 bugs. But I really don't care anymore if the CSS doesn't validate as it should be IE "compatible" and will only look better under Firefox as they have implemented some CSS 3. Should look better under Safari, too. Try it.

Finally had some time...

IE/Firefox compatibility seems to be working better. I finally had some time to fix some of the problems which have been bugging me with this for more then a year. Also added Encryption/SSL support. Server certificate is signed only by me/server so expect to add an exception if you want encryption!

Umm

IE works?

  • Overhauled web page using DIV'S and FLOAT'S instead of strict tables.
  • IE (6 for me), looks a little odd. Table spacing is off.
  • In other words use Firefox.

More fixes...

More problems fixed. IE works :P

  • Got homepage to validate properly (HTML 4.01 Transitional and CSS 2.1)
  • Fixed problem being able to view page (CSS table margins) under IE (haha) fixed it...though
  • Got pages re-indexed by google - namely "finger command" on right...
  • Bunch more little things.

Update...

Have fixed a few problems.

  • The mail page now works correctly.
  • Updated the finger command scripts.
  • Updated the Slackware page since I have been fooling with the webserver.
  • Webserver kernel updated.
  • Updated many packages and built some.(ImageMagik for instance - no xwindows).
  • A bunch of things to help speed up the servers connection. (I know it's slow).
